Rules & Guidelines
Classes
- All material costs must be paid at the time of registration.
- Punctuality is very important for class effectiveness. Please be on time. Students will be permitted to enter classes late only at the individual instructor’s discretion.
- Should the decision be made to drop out of a class, please contact the instructor and inform him/her of your decision.
Non-Class Time
- Any students not in class must be in a study room or with their parents.
- No one is permitted in the sanctuary.
- No loitering in the stairwells or halls.
- Food will be allowed only in the lunch rooms and foyer (except for water in the classrooms).
- Please be sure your children have appropriate material to keep them busy between classes. Examples are games, books, and school work. Remember that we have all age groups participating in classes and the older children are serving as an example to the younger.
- Walk quietly in hallways during class times.
Outdoor Play
- Children playing outdoors must have their parent or designated adult’s supervision at ALL TIMES!!
Drop-Off/Dismissal
- All students must have their parent or “designated adult” on-site while the child is attending classes or on the Faith Community Bible Church property. “Designated adult” means an individual who is 18 years or older who has been personally notified by the parent that he/she is responsible for their child. Instructors cannot act in the role of “designated adult.” There will be a log-in/out board posted where the parent must indicate who is the “designated adult” for their child if the parent is not in the building. The Lighthouse is for class enrolled students and their families only and not to be used as a hang-out or play-group/drop-off location.
Disciplinary Guidelines and Policy
- Respect for the instructors and authorities is paramount.
- Instructors may remove students at any time from a class for behavioral/attitude problems. In that case, students will be dismissed to their parent. If this is a recurring problem, your child may be dismissed from the class. If a instructor has made the decision to permanently suspend a child from a class, this will not be subject to review or appeal.
- Monitors will have the authority to return a child to their parent for not following the Lighthouse guidelines.
Behavior Expectations
- Remember the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”
- Play fairly. Play and Speak kindly. No pushing, name calling, etc. Remember the Golden Rule!
- No running, except when outside.
- Walk quietly past classrooms and study rooms.
- Study quietly in study rooms. Straighten it up when you leave.
- Pick up your own messes and lunches and be responsible to wipe down tables.
Lunchroom/Kitchen
- Kids clean up after themselves at lunchtime, picking up their own trash. Each table should designate someone to wipe down the table when students are through eating.
- Microwave use is for adults only.
